Google Maps 5.0 for Android Now Available With 3D Buildings, Online Support

Google Maps 5.0 is based on vector graphics instead of flat 2D maps to download map data. Vector files are smaller and more flexible than the typical image file, both of which make a big difference on mobile devices. Thanks for vector graphics, the application will now load maps faster than ever before, and draw in a dynamic way. It also supports 3D models of construction for over 100 major cities. The compass is automatically redirected to the new map helps to maintain direction.


As mentioned previously, the application could also map data cache that you use most often so you can read offline maps. It will retrieve locations on the map at night when you are connected to WiFi.
