Samsung quarterly results arrive, it is clear that Nokia has dropped to third place in sales of Smartphone’s.

While not everything is rosy for the Korean technology, the company has sold 19.2 million units compared to 16.7 million units Nokia.

Apple is still in first place with 20.3 million iPhones shipped, making Samsung the second largest vendor of Smartphone’s in the world.

Previously, the leading Smartphone maker in the world for over a decade, Nokia had recently been dropped in the iPhone from Apple, which has sold over 20 million copies in 2nd quarter in 2011.

The last couple of years, the Finnish mobile giant has been struggling with declining sales due to their Symbian OS, and the move to Microsoft Windows Mobile 7 platform.

Many believe that Nokia will soon see a revival of his fortunes when he began shipping Microsoft Windows-based Smartphone’s, which could eventually lead to become the Windows Phone Smartphone platform second most popular in 2015.
