 Listen to your heartbeat through your iPhone

Heart rate monitor may soon be as easy as listening to music on the iPhone. CSEM Swiss Technology Company created by the transfer of the final prototype of their device Pulsar - a small unit embedded in a normal headphone use infrared signals to how fast your heart beats.

"A lot of people listen to music while they exercise and a lot of people find the belts uncomfortable, so we thought it made sense to try to measure heart rate through the ear," said CSEM's Dr Andrea Ridolfi.

Thanks to a grant from the ESA's Technology Transfer Program Transfer demonstration "of the initiative, the MSRC created the prototype. An application for the iPhone lets you see your heart rate at the time of the screen and compare, for example, work today with the last week. Subjects who have tested the application to use during daily activities and the number of fitness or HD devices.
