Sony PlayStation Network restored in US, Europe and parts of Asia
Sony says that it returns to the PlayStation Network in the United States, Europe and parts of Asia today after hackers stole customer data and services expelled in April.
Sony said in a statement Thursday that the services will be resumed in the United States, Europe and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea. Restoration includes music services Qriocity Sony.
Sony closed the network after a massive security breach that affected more than 100 million online accounts and embarrassed the technology giant.
Sony says it has added a "significant" improvement in security to protect customer information. It hopes to attract customers with the package "Welcome Back" to download free games and additional services.
